The designs you see on this site are the result of several years of evolving and refining a drawing process that started out of the blue by total accident.

I took a fall and hurt my back, so I had to figure out a way to keep making art. I couldn’t stand all day in front of an easel, and I didn’t want to breathe in tons of stone or pastel dust anymore.

So I got myself a big ole ipad and ipencil, found a couple of apps, and learned how to use them.

Looking back, I have to laugh at how silly some of the designs were, like this one – literally named  ‘Goofy!

It’s been a long progression of gradual changes – adding color, refining drawing styles, adding critters and humans in odd or funny scenes.

I lived in Hawaii most of my life, loving the ocean, surfing, sailing, kayaking, whales, dolphins – you can bet I have hundreds of ocean designs full of all kinds of fishies and underwater critters, and humans swimming and playing in the waves or on the beach.

I love drawing funny bunnies, dogs, weird kitties playing with their doggie friends, hanging out with humans –

Of course humans! I’ve done humans taking a bath, washing dishes, painting, sailing, driving silly looking cars, eating chips, saving whales, doing yoga, and more. Lately I’ve been on a plant kick – drawing plants that have healing properties or that have special flower configurations.

There’s just an endless amount of fantastic things to draw! I have years’ worth of too-many ideas and beliefs and attitudes about life illustrated by critters dancing or playing or doing odd things, some of the designs subtle, some knock-your-eyes-out powerful –

I love seeing these designs on ceramic tiles, on silk scarves, wallpaper, wrapping paper, table ware, fabric, socks, bags, pillows, blankets – it’s so thrilling to see my creations on so many diverse products!
